An experimental subscriber engagement initiative launched by The New York Times to explore the role of live events in strengthening audience connection and retention. Developed in partnership with newsroom and growth leadership, the virtual series brought subscribers into direct conversation with Times journalists, editors, and contributors through timely discussions on news, culture, and current events.

Highlights:

  • Led production and program management for The New York Times' first subscriber-only event series, an initiative sponsored by the Chief Growth Officer

  • Produced five virtual events designed to test the relationship between live experiences and subscriber retention

  • Exceeded RSVP goals by 35% while engaging thousands of subscribers and more than 20 Times journalists, editors, and contributors

  • Secured an additional $1M in funding following the successful pilot, supporting continued investment in subscriber engagement initiatives
